WHO WE ARE

The United Achievers' Club of Brampton Inc. was established in 1980 and incorporated as a non-profit organization in 1987. The founding members, who were Canadians of Black and Caribbean heritage, sought to provide avenues through which people from these communities could express their culture and add to the rich multicultural blend of Peel Region.

In 1990, the United Achievers’ Club (UAC) applied to the Ministry of Housing to participate in the Ontario government’s “Homes Now” program. In 1991, the Club received approval for a $21 million loan to proceed with a proposed housing complex. The result is Mahogany Place, an eleven-story apartment building with 126 units and 26 townhouses. It is run by a Board of Directors, elected by members of the UAC.

Although our focus is on people of Black and Caribbean heritage, we welcome anyone who shares our goals and objectives. The Caribbean area has been a potpourri of races for centuries, as the Greater Toronto Area has become in recent decades. We encourage new members to join our Club and volunteer their services on one of our various committees.
